Target Practice
This project involved creating and implementing a visual and conceptual system surrounding captures made by passive recording devices such as security systems, doorbell cameras, vehicular security, trail cams, and mapping softwares.
The publication below functions as a brand guide for this system, allowing the reader to simulate the identification processes used by these devices when flipping the translucent pages over the screen captures on the left. The diagrams on the right are intended to display the true chaotic nature of these systems that aim to organize and predict human behaviors.
Another outcome of this visual language were these speculative business cards that I designed for fictional security companies, consistent with the assets previously implemented while experimenting with more traditional logo marks and branding to create a convincing resemblance to actual corporations that conduct such work.
Building on the concept of target practice, this poster design was printed 2.5 x 5' and was intended to be used as a life size shooting range target by machine vision, rather than a marksman. This process involved utilizing generative artificial intelligence, forced pixelation, and digital means of distortion.
The final implementation of this process was this video, edited to show this system in motion, a form that is true to the function of the source materials, rather than simply showcasing still images.
