Still Remains
A print-based exploration that considers the role of “reclaimed” property and the loss of industry in exchange for domestic housing. This is expressed through captures of historic commercial signage sourced from Richmond, Virginia, involving recreations of hand-painted typography, photographs, and archived material. These archaic materials are recontextualized in a simultaneous state to highlight the accumulation and persistence of the past’s continuous influence on our present environment.
